We Cruize......

Welcome to "We Cruize".... cyberspace home of Cool Cruizin Kid and Jenny Spink

If you've been following everything with Cruize and I over the past couple years, you know that he has had some health issues. We have worked closely with Dr. Emery & Dr. Irving for close to 2 years now. At times we thought it was issues with his hocks, as we knew those were fusing, he was also suspect of having PSSM. He'd had Chiropractic care, Accupuncture, Xrays & injections for the hocks & knees...Cruize continued to be unridable.... We now have an answer.

Many Thanks to Dr. Bob Emery, Beadle Lake Large Animal Clinic, Battle Creek Michigan. Dr. Emery attended specialized ultra sound training in the Netherlands last fall. He offered to try out his techniques using the ultra sound on Cruize's back. Cruize has now been confirmed to have "kissing spine". This condition was clearly evident on the ultrasound. Kissing spine is when the spinous processes that stick upward, rub together.

Dr. Emery gave Cruize some injections that hopefully help alleviate immediate discomfort, however long term solutions aren't favorable for him to return to the performance level we once shared.

Cruize will not enter full retirement just yet, however. As long as he is comfortable, I will try and continue his training in showmanship, and possibly Halter if he is able to track straight and carry the weight.

Thank you Everyone for your love and support the past couple of years as we struggled to diagnose Cruize's issues.

**Meet "Forrest"**...aka-"Half Impulse" ApHa

Many, many thanks to Tamie Dodge for presenting me with the opportunity to work with this great gelding. 4 yr old Forrest will be my project this year, and has already proven that he will teach me patiences! Forrest has been green broke, so, yes..I am certain to learn a lot from this gelding! I'm also excited for the doors that are being opened along with him. Keep checking back for updates, as we progress with our training. I hope to start him out at some shows in walk/trot classes.

It presented itself very quickly, but many thanks to those who have helped and encouraged me to take Shawna to the World ARHA Show in Murfreesboro, TN. It was a great trip. We came a way with a 6th place world finish in Poles. I learned a lot during this trip, especially about how hot Tenneesee can get! *whew*

Thanks for your continued support!! A special Thanks to Mr. Herring in Utah, Mr Hobbs, and Spink Seed Company for making this trip possible!!
